Description

The Volunteer Management Training Program for Nonprofits, hosted by Volunteer Hampton Roads, is a comprehensive six-week training initiative designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills essential for effectively engaging and managing volunteers. This program, developed by Points of Light, has been continuously updated to meet the evolving needs of organizations and volunteers.

All classes will be held on Wednesdays from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm.

  • Establishing the Framework (September 23rd)
  • Planning for Volunteer Engagement (September 30th)
  • Opportunities & Outreach (October 7th)
  • Intake & Onboarding (October 14th)
  • Supervision & Support (October 21st)
  • Evaluation (October 28th)

TARGET AUDIENCE

This program is designed for nonprofit professionals working with volunteers, including those involved in assessing volunteer needs, budgeting for volunteer programs, writing volunteer position descriptions, recruiting volunteers, managing volunteers, and stewarding relationships with volunteers.

CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of all six modules, participants earn a certification in volunteer engagement, demonstrating their expertise in recruiting, managing, and retaining volunteers effectively.
